DC man throws Subway sandwich at cops

DOJ Employee Sean Charles Dunn Charged After Throwing Subway Sandwich at Federal Officers in D.C.

Washington, D.C., August 14, 2025 — In a bizarre and widely circulated video, a Department of Justice employee was arrested and charged with felony assault after allegedly throwing a Subway sandwich at federal officers during a confrontation on a busy downtown street.

According to court filings and police statements, the suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Sean Charles Dunn, who worked as an international affairs specialist in the DOJ’s criminal division. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed Dunn’s identity and announced his immediate termination, calling the act “disrespect toward law enforcement” and invoking “Deep State” rhetoric in her social media statement  .

The incident occurred late Sunday night near 14th and U Streets NW, where Dunn allegedly confronted a group of Metro Transit Police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers. Witnesses and video footage show Dunn pointing in an officer’s face, shouting expletives—including calling the officer a “f—ing fascist”—and demanding, “Why are you here? I don’t want you in my city!”  . He then “wound his arm back” and forcefully hurled a wrapped Subway-style sub at the officer before attempting to flee on foot.
