August 6, 2025 – New York, NY — Parenting brand Frida is stirring up conversation—and taste buds—with the launch of its newest, limited-time product: breast milk-inspired ice cream. The unusual flavor is not made from actual breast milk but is formulated to replicate its taste and nutritional profile—part of a bold campaign to spotlight the realities of motherhood, especially breastfeeding challenges.
The Concept Behind the Cream
Frida, widely known for its no-nonsense products for new parents, announced the campaign via social media and pop-up events in New York and Los Angeles. The goal: bring attention to the often-overlooked struggles nursing mothers face, including public shaming, lack of support, and pressure to “bounce back” after birth.
“We’re not here to make dessert,” said Frida CEO Chelsea Hirschhorn. “We’re here to make a point. Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.”
The campaign, called “Ice Cream for the Cream of the Crop,” features five flavors mimicking the sweetness and composition of actual breast milk—high in fats, proteins, and natural sugars like lactose. All ingredients are plant-based and FDA-compliant.
